Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS)
Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) was a technical assistance program that sought to implement new transportation designs that promote greater environmental sustainability. The project was administered by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Project for Public Spaces (PPS), where Aurash worked as a planner and led this body of work. Technical assistance was provided during planning workshops and with collaboratively developed design documents. The program also included an online clearinghouse of best practices that was used by FHWA regional offices and planning professionals. Three of the technical assistance projects are below: 
Brighton Boulevard Redesign: Download the full report hereBrighton Boulevard is a key corridor connecting the airport to the downtown Denver. It excels as a logistic resource for moving people and goods, but as a consequence it presents a hazard for the communities that surround it. Done in partnership with the Denver Department of Transportation, this projects presents a vision for integrating the corridor into the community and transforming it to provide local services, while still service as a critical artery for the city as a whole. For more information the report is embedded below. 
Walkable Maine Street: Download the full report hereCreating a master plan for pedestrian circulation in downtown New Brunswick, Maine. Done in partnership with the Walkable and Livable Communities Institute and the City of New Brunswick, Maine.
